3 still pushing mobile data value

2008-Jul-23, 12:15 am

IN BRIEF | Only weeks after increasing the limits on some of its existing data plans, 3 has launched a new special offer for 6GB of mobile 3G data for $39/month.

The offer, which requires a 24 month contract, also includes a free modem that can either be USB key, USB dongle or a laptop card.

On the surface, the plan beats the previous "value king" from Vodafone of 5GB for $39. However, 3's coverage is not as good as its competitors, and if you go out of this area and need to roam onto Telstra's GSM network, you will pay exorbitant data fees of $1.65/MB.
